Getting ready for my first Gathering
May 5, 2016
In 10 weeks time, I leave for the ISGB Gathering in New Orleans. Seem like plenty of time, right? Wrong!
 Making glass beads in Jablonec
There is so much to do before I will be ready for the Gathering. And there is a lot more to do before I wil feel ready for it. The basics are done: registration, airplane tickets, place to sleep. Next step: finishing my presentation on the beadmaking traditions in Europe. Getting pictures together of the different techniques of beadmaking in for example Germany and the Czech Republic.
 My glass studio
Next I need to have an item for the live auction, stuff for the silent auction, beads for Beads of Courage, beads to swap and ofcourse I have to fill up my half table at the Bead Bazaar. I see lots of time in my trailer studio ahead of me!
The Gathering this year will be held in New Orleans. In 2015 I got the chance to visit this great city during Mardi Gras. And catch plenty of beads!
I am hoping to meet up with many glass friends I already know, and make many new ones. Looking forward to a Gathering with beads, inspiration, great food and fun people!
